I am no expert but I don't think they will work together. To me they are two different styles and if you use both it will look like a compromise of two clashing styles. I think you need to fully embrace the rustic or the vertical, use one of those as your feature and build around it. Question is; which one? Flip a coin?

Thanks for your comments. We don't have a drawn plan at this stage. The block is 2000 sq m (20m wide x 100m deep), configured with N to the street. We want to allow a 4m driveway on E and 1m offset on W fence to neighbour, so max house width is 15m. Because of the depth we can locate house a fair way into block and leave a courtyard area behind a wall. The idea is to have 20-30m between front N wall and street border as a productive garden getting full N sun. Then an L-shaped house extending from NW corner of one room width down to full width kitchen, dining, lounge and main BR running W-E. The pool would extend down the N-S length of courtyard and be close to living/main BR with access from both and windows to the S to create x-ventillation.

I have used them on the north facing wall of a skylight shaft at the top, just below a Velux window.. You don't really notice them unless you look up the shaft but they do bounce a lot of extra light down the shaft. I have done this for an internal laundry and ensuite where there are no windows, and as a result neither of these rooms seem dark or gloomy during the day. Hi there, I’m looking for advice on outdoor pool tiles/ pavers- Hubby has picked an outdoor alfresco tile that runs into the pool area- I’m really worried about having tiling around the pool area- even though they’re outdoor tiles- are they actually non slip? I’m more inclined to go for a sandstone paver or travertine paver. I’ve never tiles used around a pool and am worried about potential slips with young children- the sales people at the tile shop and our interior designer say it’s not as issue. Help. Thank you
