This is an example of 2 Custom assembled spindle / Galley rail shelf units w/rounded edges and front corners. This style of shelf unit is usually made approximately 4-5" depth. We have made many of these shelves in different length's. They are made from 7/8" thick wood with a galley rail inserted directly into the shelf around the front and sides of the shelf,with no bottom rail. Shown shelves are attached to 2 - 1SB458CR Contemporary style shelf brackets and backplate with countersunk screwholes w/buttons to cover when installed for hanging strength and security as well as 2 keyholes in each of the shelf brackets, all attached and assembled. You can have these made with or without a v-plate groove. The one shown above was finished in a Golden Oak stain, topped with several coats of clear gloss lacquer.
