It will all depend on the over all end result your going for. I think once you put down the floors add your counter tops and appliances and hardware it won't look so white. You'll want to consider the fished room as a whole in combination to your other adjacent rooms. The room will have a lot more texture than it does right now once complete. If it's a darker look your going for I would consider a counter top with a grey and brown mix and use a darker finish on your hardware. I would also go with stainless appliances for a more contemporary look. Also you can add more color with a back splash. Texture adds interest and adds to your overall look. Also don't forget window treatments and accessories. They will complete the room and add more dimension and visual interest.
If you are not working with a designer I would recommend a professional opinion and just a fresh eye to make sure your not making an costly mistakes you'll regret later! Before you spend your money on countertops and flooring, look at them together with your painted cabinets. It's amazing what a good eye you have when you layer your samples. You eye will say "yes". You may have to look a few combinations to know for sure.

IMO, consider taking the backsplash to the edge of the counter so it balances with the stove side of the kitchen.

I can see that you're a person who likes the all-white look, which I am not. I do think your choices are attractive among themselves, but urge you to consider something other than solid white subway tiles as a backsplash. It doesn't have to be a bold color departure, but can do all that's necessary to rescue a kitchen from one component too many of white. Even white-with-anything, such as subway tile, in any pattern you like, such as a herringbone. Very classic. Very subtle.

Careful with all white. Some will yellow with age and make a room look tired.

I just renovated my own home. We bought an old brick ranch & I was tired of all of the same kitchens that everyone thought they loved. Stained cabinets, dark floors, stainless appliances, earth toned back splashes.

I want clean white, almost invisible pulls, white backsplash, ect. I too was afraid of the all to white too contemporary feel. I can get granite very inexpensively. Then I came across the butcher block. I love it! It tones down the white cabinet & walls.

I would not do white black splash. Either gray, black, green or blue.

I recommend you consider a white benchtop (since you love white) and a really good grey on starphire glass. Pick the grey from a 2013/14 colour swatch at your local DIY store.
Bring in the warmth with timber and colour with appliances and decor.

I agree with the other commenters about too much white. Im a fan of the color white, but when it is all one color, none of it looks special. Considering the brown elements from your other rooms, I would like to see a vibrant grassy green tile on your backsplash. Subway herringbone would be classy. The two colors look great together inside as well as in nature.

Cambria has a wonderful quartz that has lots of caramel, beige, white and BLING...some embedded crystal rock....called Windemere. I used it in my master bath. See photo attach. They also have lots of other colors that might work, but it would all depend on the backsplash..if you do white tile on backsplash, maybe pick up a grout color that is also found in your countertop. Cambria is a bit pricey, but amazing...never stains, doesn't need sealant, and is guaranteed for any cracks or chips. I was able to get remnant pieces for my job.

Herringbone Tile would look great. There are lots of herringbone tile that comes in sheets so that you do not have to piece individual tile pieces together. I would suggest inserting some color to add more depth and character to the space. The all white looks great, and adding some color will make it stand out even more because of the contrast.

Tile with gray, grayish blues might work and will also tie in the floor and other spaces. Good luck and have fun with the process!

Go with your instinct I'm sure you will make the right decision. Picking decor is so subjective, everyone has their own opinion and taste which is fantastic as this is what makes us individuals.

Backsplash tile is really trendy now. Don't get a busy pattern because you will get tired of it. It will be tricky to get the right white for the countertop and cabinets but it will unify the design and a herringbone pattern would be a classic with a little more texture. Your kitchen ware can add the color.
You could take a natural neutral color from the flooring or adjoining rooms if you want a little contrast without limiting future color choices.
