weird idea for a launfry
Comments (11)While it sounds do-able, as a designer I find the aesthetics don't seem very appealing at all. I always try to accommodate an poster's needs and do appreciate the pragmatism but is there a way to create walls or another room for it? Not only are you washing by your cars, there is dirt and dust out there, which somewhat defeats the purpose. Also what about the spiders that will want to live there because of the humidity and dryer?...See MoreWhat should we do with our L-shaped courtyard?
Comments (79)Lovely area! You have done a great job! Just a thought i would have put decking to one side and only had one side with stone and plants as putting the decking in the middle looks like a runway. Just my opinion. Black stone would look great instead of white. And painting the back bricks would have been better with a darker colour to make timber "pop" like the colour of your fence or black like the posts. Loving your ideas and transformation is fantastic!...See MoreTwo ensuites... is this weird?
Comments (9)what a great house and make sure you salvage those fabulous plants near the front door...these new plans rotate the bathroom but you'll notice that the difference in size in this direction and the view from the main hallway is why i didn't include them in my original suggestion and means that the vanities will have to be smaller and the doors open against the only towel hanging space so could be better to use cavity sliders again which is a challenge with plumbing in those walls i've also included new windows as teh single windows will be a problem with the new internal walls ...the original vanity cabinets were two x 1200 wide, the showers 900 deep x width of the room and bath 750 x the width of the room..but studying the whole house plans it's difficult to understand teh correction dimensions of the original kitchen...is the measurement 3.65m x 3.65 or 3800 x 4000 and is the 4m allong the length or across the width of the building?? btw i have to suggest (having recently completed a major renovation on a 1952 home with similar colourful old renovations) that most of the plumbing and wiring needed to be replaced and this is the best opportunity to make improvements and i suggest that you plan the whole house renovation even if you prefer to do the work in sections eg is the old kitchen the best place for the new ensuites?? but you need to double check the dimensions on the plans as they're not consistent and even a few cms can make a difference to options...will look forward to your ideas for the rest of the house...See MoreBest design for a weird shaped bathroom and laundry
Comments (5)my suggestion includes moving the toilet to gain access to handwashing and tall storage... everything else is standard sizes which will be cheaper and easier to install than special sizes or walk in showers (eg the laundry benches are available at the major hardware stores and could easily be installed by a handyperson with a small drop in sink (unless you need to hand wash huge items which can be hand washed in a bath) the small sink that will allow more counter and under bench space and make sure that the plumber installs all the taps and WM connections under the counter and has all the pipes installed at the back of the space to allow for a tall laundry basket to squeeze under the bench)...See Morekellyography
