No I don't think the teal and red clash, as long as the red is the same tonal value as the teal. Start with the tonal value of the rug. I would go online and find some cushions that are different sizes, ie a couple of lumbar cushions 2 X bigger squares and maybe a round one. All chosen in patterns not bolds since the sofa is charcoal, this will soften the look. Firstly the sofa needs to be properly placed on the rug, I can see why you like it, yet it wasn't the right choice for an all beige backdrop. If you can paint the walls all in white, this would bring out the rug and sofa and give you the teal and red to work with the white and charcoal. I would choose red pattern on white, and teal pattern on charcoal for fabric choices. Or go to a fabric store and make yr cushion covers. You need some prints, art or photos on the wall behind to tie it all in. 3m do Velcro tabs that peel off without damaging the walls. Just allow your walls to cure for a couple of weeks first if you decide to paint. The beauty of the Velcro tabs is they don't allow the frame to move, I always use tabs on every edge of the frame, your max weight is about 5kilos . Found at Bunnings. Your coffee table needs to tie in with the charcoal and the rug. perhaps a textured wood in a white or grey wash finish with some driftwood sculptural piece, or some other natural materials on top to dress the table.

Yes time for some updates. I painted the table white but had the chairs finished in matt black with a gorgeous velvet fabric from designers guild. It cost a small fortune but was worth it. I've also updated the gallery wall so it's more cohesive and added some new living room furnishings. I'm so happy with the outcome.

Yes, all the Houzzers have been extraordinarily helpful. I am sure in the end, it will be a beautiful room. With regards to the change of sofa style, I was unsure of my ability to keep the white leather clean - particularly the stitching. By finally going with the "Julio" it is slightly more comfy sofa than the "Ariel". It has a higher back and I feel the "granite" colour will give me less hassles. In reality, the "granite" colour has slight yellow/creme undertones which tie back better with the curtains but this doesn't really show up in pictures. Golly, I hope I am on the right track.
