As a guide - the bigger the room - the bigger the furniture needs to be ! I have, for example , a pair of 8' ( four seater ) sofas in my lounge and the day I ordered them, three times they asked/checked I really had room for two of them, as they were the biggest sofas in the shop !! My lounge is about 6mx5m with 3m high vaulted ceiling - and the sofas actually look the right size, anything 'standard' would look too small in there !!!

I am not the best person to comment on lights but would a few downlights be the go or one of those integrated heat/fan/light things be best in centre. Also a lot of people have task lighting......so lights just above the mirror for makeup etc. Personally too bright lighting while doing makeup sends me into a spin as I look like i have about a month to live! I hadn't thought of approvals for my proposed window - so thanks for that. Must keep that in mind. My bathroom is very hidden and looks nowhere in particular. It is all looking good. On another note my friend got a heated towel rail and much as I hate wasting power it is fab. Our towels seems to stay dampish in uninsulated BV '60 box in Melbourne. Also i would have a look in bathroom showrooms for some ideas too if you have any handy. Or buy a bathroom specialty magazine. It is going to be so nice this bathroom. What tiles etc?

It is a shame your original selection is no longer available, but rather than thinking of either your your alternate options as a compromise, perhaps they actually present an opportunity! I think that the basin shape of the Arto gives a cleaner line and think it is a good idea to stay in keeping with other items you have in the house already. As not dimensions are provided it is not clear, but I think yo may have an issue placing a liquid soap dispenser in an easily accessible position on the top of either basin - you may need to consider another dispensing option. Vanities appear to be slim line which leads me to think space is at a premium & that being the case, having 2 doors on the vanity cupboard may be advantageous as they of of course take less room to open either individually or together. No-one seems to have talked budget . Where I'd start is actually leave the actual room as it is for a start . Eh ? Yep . Take down the nothing curtains . Go for bright colour curtains , depending on the rest of your house . Personally , I'd go for red , or white . Or red and white vertical striped . But yellow , orange , blue , green would all work . A leather lounge suite in white or red , or possibly black . A leafy pot plant in a colourful pot . And then -- a big abstract picture in complimentary colours on the brick wall -- around 1.8mtr x 1.2mtr or similar . Lighting -- stainless designer 12volt spotlights , 3 or 4 on each light . You can point and position to suit , highlight and hide features , and thge lights themselves look good without being instrusive or knocking your head . Basics done for $2k plus furniture !
