Kitchen colours incl bench tops and splash backs

We are in the process of doing the new kitchen. We've moved the whole kitchen to another room and have bought a black mirror fridge and have designed the layout (I think it's right) but wondering what colours to do the cupboards! Bench tops and the splash backs.
We also thinking of going with ikea for the cupboards as they seem Ike good quality with 30 yr guarantee and their price came up much cheaper than others.
My dilemma is I love the black gloss cupboards with light stone bench tops but hope it's not too much black. Most kitchens are white and I want something different. My kettle and other accessories are red.
No idea about splash backs. The floors are like a beach sand colour.
Any advice and tips would be very helpful.

When we did our Kitchen last year, our kitchen guy showed us a product called Acryil, it looks likes a glass splash back, comes in a range of colours. We have had many compliments on it.

What sort of floors do you have? What shape is your kitchen and where is the fridge? I think an all black kitchen is most suited to a large space with a lot of natural light. If you have that it will be fine. :) In a small space without natural light, it may look dark and the black gloss may be a little overwhelming. If you have a kitchen with a defined back wall, another wall to the left/right and an island, you might want to put the gloss fridge and cupboards all down the side wall and on the island, and use a contrasting colour for the other cupboards. Perhaps a timber or grey timber look laminate and off white to warm up the space and bring in a bit of light. Depending on what you do and do not like as well as what is going to be reflected, a mirror splash may bring in a little more light as well. Goodluck with it all.

Have u thought about a glass splashback?its very easy to clean,I have used red,but u may like a more subtle colour! We put in black granite bench tops when we built the house 17 yrs ago,they still look fantastic but they are a nightmare to keep clean,I would definitely change them to a white Caesar stone if I could!!

Susan, we installed our wonderful new kitchen just over a year ago and still we find the tiled wall/splashback the best feature. The kitchen colour is charcoal and depending on the light of the time of day it looks dark grey or blue.....so our choice of splashback had to be rather neutral. we decided on a clear glass subway tile and the most wonderful part of this is that the natural glass colour (faint green tinge) comes out and this is most complimentaryto the cabinetry colour.....

White-matte cabinets (flat panel, not shaker) and white bench (or maybe epoxy sealed marine ply??...siriuskey can tell you about that), mirror splash. Love the ceilings. I personally would go for a modern, stream-line, no handles, integrated appliances look. This space has real potential to be very cool, even with the slate. It doesn't need any more more texture or darkness. This is a nice kitchen, you should be able to sell it on ebay.

I would not use a white stone, such as a Carrera Marble in any kitchen, no matter what the colour of the cabinetwork due to the porosity and risk of staining. Better to use a reconstituted stone benchtop which is manufactured to look like stone, such as Caeserstone, or one of its competitors. If you have the budget look at Dekton for whitish stone-like benchtops. As far as the monochomatic scheme it can look very smart, but will depend on the amount of natural light and artificial light in the room. Perhaps consider doing the overheads in white, and paying special attention to your choice of splashback. You may also want to consider how long you will live in your home, as black kitchens are very much on trend, and in ten years time they will have dated and look very 2018.
