Would this dining table go with our floor or is it too much wood?

This is a formal table do you live a formal lifestyle? There are only four chairs, is this enough for your needs as this table does not really lend itself to an eclectic range of chairs that less formal timber tables offer. I am a great believer in not rushing choices with a new home - the right pieces will reveal themselves once you figure out how you will live in the space. All the best with your decisions and enjoy your new home....See MoreWhat chairs would go with this dinning table
Comments (9)Chantelle, what a fab table! I can't tell though if the top is timber, stone, concrete (or the look of) or metal. If you like industrial style then Oskuee's top three images are perfect! The fourth photo is a crossback chair which can suit industrial, Hamptons and modern country. However if you like a modern classic look, then a fully upholstered chair like the style of the one in this link would work. Either colour match the legs to the table or paint them matt black. A straight leg, rather than a taper ( as shown in the link) might be better too. Fabric-wise because the table has clean lines, a self pattern or plain would be best. Photos please when you're finished. https://www.houzz.com.au/photos/custom-designed-dining-table-and-chairs-contemporary-dining-room-sydney-phvw-vp~55535654...See MoreChair suggestions needed for my dining table

Comments (7)For such a quirky and interesting table in a bohemian and eclectic interior I would consider a set of eight Philippe Starck Ghost Chairs. The classic lines would complement the design of your table, but the clear polycarbonate would not conceal that wonderful pedestal. In addition they are stackable, so you could stack four in a corner, and have four chairs out for everyday use. There are reproductions available, however the polycarbonate is not the same quality as the original Kartell brand, and seems to be more brittle and prone to snapping. The clear ones are classic and are readily available, but I think one of the transparent, smoked versions (perhaps with the gold tint) would work even better. http://www.spacefurniture.com.au/louis-ghost.html Best of luck, Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls...See More- 10 years ago
