Life gets busy so we forget to stop and really look at the spaces we use most often. This Melbourne client spent so much time in front of the computer he did not realise how draining the layout was.
We suggested relocating the office to an underused guest room (more on multifunctional spaces later) and designed the kitchen nook to become an eat-in-kitchen space which would be used while entertaining family and friends as he prepared a meal. Only after the project was completed did he tell us how he never realised how lovely the morning light was. We designed site specific built in banquettes upholstered in blue leather, buttoned with varying coloured button (to add a little bit of fun). The industrial pendant light and Saarinen's tulip table provided an elegant timeless look.
