Hi Andrew At Bodo, our motto for exterior colour schemes is Keep It Simple! with a maximum of 3 colours, including your roof, windows etc. If you break this rule, the colour scheme becomes complicated and fussy, and may make your house appear smaller, as introducing differing colour in differing sections, confuses the eye line. Dont make the same mistake, by making "for now"decisions. Think of the future :) We recommend keeping everything in Colorbond Bushland. We have attached an example of how this could look below. 1. Rendered Rear Retainers 2. Existing front retainers 3. Fencing (existing) 4. Full House repaint (this is where the future comes in!) This scheme will work beautifully with your white aluminium joinery, and feel seamless. It will be ok with your classic cream patio and roof. This colour scheme wont be one bit boring! just stylish and classic. Not to mention an increased sale ability of your home. Then you can bring in some timberwork, pots in a colour that you love, outdoor furniture etc or maybe even a wall garden on the rear fence line. Honestly, go to your local paint shop. Most brand paints have a colour consultant that will come out to your house for about $180 and give you the best advise on paint colours. Then if you purchase that brand paint, the amount spent on consultant is deducted from your paint purchase. I had Dulux consultant come out. Best money well spent. Go to your local paint shop and inquire. They also do interior paint suggestions. Can't go wrong. You'll regret trying to blast it off. good luck.

With such a large house I think it would need some other darker colour along with white to help "ground" the look. Also, as mentioned above, pure white on an exterior looks very glarey - surfmist would be perfect. I would strongly suggest getting a colour consultant to help with such a large project - and get some mock-ups done with different colour ideas.

Funnily enough , I think the whole house already looks too dark , and I think the bricks and the roof are actually a good base , but again just personally , the windows used to close in the garage I would have liked to do in say surfmist or silver just to lighten things up . Maybe not for good reasons , but the lighter concrete below those windows is the first thing I noticed -- I realise it will presumably get covered or painted , but I noticed it because it is lighter in tone . The green fence doesn't help , and I'd do it in charcoal , which might sound 'silly' with what I said about the windows , but to do just the fence in a lighter silver or white or off-white would look 'weird' -- you want the house to be noticed , the fence less so . So what else ? Maybe a bright front door , or even a natural cedar or lighter -- make it a feature , at present it just blends/blands in . Maybe 2 or 3 large bright orange or yellow 'ali baba' glazed pots with vibrant spikey plants , bamboos , etc positioned right along the front -- large pots at least 60cm x 80cm to get noticed ! Just my thoughts .
