Comments (3)I guess some people associate 'beach' homes with weatherboard cladding, inside wall panelling, and wooden floor boards to give that relaxed vibe. I personally thing stone would also look effective and require less maintenance in comparison to the wood. Remember, sand has a tendency to scratch floorboards, therefore, over time, it may require some TLC to restore to original condition. Comments (29)We had a house with a timber ceiling - it is a tricky decision. If it is a cheap display home build perhaps cover it, but if the quality is good it is a much harder decision. I think it looks good now and could be made very interesting. Also that look is "back". Make sure your lighting is very good and the heaviness will dissappear somewhat. Comments (6)I've used fireplace paint before. Bought from BBQ's Galore. Our fire was black cast iron though. I'd check with the paint manufacturer if you can use it on powder coat. The paint is really smelly (toxic)...seriously, the last thing you'd want is it burning and peeling off because it doesn't adhere to the powder coat....See More1970s dining room - wooden doors, white doors or wooden frames?
Comments (40)Daniel Lindahl - I didn't say to get rid of it - I just said to change it for something else - I have a 70's home owner built - cavity brick - Daniel sometimes it is working with what you have in order to keep costs down - paintings - if you have several - can be changed around your home for a interesting look - as our homes are our homes - the paintings - can always be shared in various rooms/walls to suit ones mood....See Moremark2370
