Need help choosing a sink!!

Hi, my husband and I are in the middle of a major kitchen Reno. We have finally decided on the colours (white) and benchtop (caeserstone Bianco Drift) but cannot agree on the sink type. Undermount is not an option but my husband is adamant that we need a sink with two drainers (somewhere to put the dirty dishes apparently) and he thinks the bench will stain and I only want one drainers due to all that beautiful stone top that will be lost with two drainers. I had decided on a Franke Neptune plus npx621. Can anyone please give me positives and negatives to both designs. It is a large kitchen and the sink bench is opposite a 3x1m island bench. Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

I am biased with a large one drain sink to allow enough room for big pots and pans to easily be cleaned. We went with an Empire sink and love it. One thing a friend mentioned, was when the faucet is mounted to make certain the spout hits in the center of sink drain, otherwise big splash can occur. Good luck!

Hi, I'd like to submit you a very innovative solution, that is a Design Award winning Italian sink we import to Australia. Actually that's the top end of the kitchen sinks and no other manufacturer produces anything like that (even though some other brands offer the glass covers). In June we got a review from a very important Magazine - I'm attaching that with some pictures.

stealman8, we have basically the same tiles on our website: susanjablon.com. We don't have a mosaic blend exactly like the one pictured, but we have the individual tiles, and you can combine them in your own way using our mosaic designer: http://www.susanjablon.com/designer/mosaic-designer.html. I had a 2nd hand lovely resort style lounge (cane with fabric) which quickly became pulled and tatty after my 2 small dogs had been using it. The leather lounge & two large leather recliners I have show no damage (regardless of long or clipped nails) and both pets love these. Having a blanket the dogs know is theirs is a great idea especially with leather, as the initial cold feeling of leather means both dogs only want to be on the blanket.

Hmm, 200mm diameter is about the size of a side plate, 300mm dinner plate and after a quick look at a few sink brands (eg Clark they seem to all be closer to 400mm). We’d need to see a pic of the room to comment properly but light grey doesn’t usually work with brown. There is a natural rug with brown tones at the same supplier as your link that would work better.

If you are having a dishwasher installed, I really cannot see the need for two drainers. I needed to maximise on my bench space so I chose an Abey sink with 2 different sized bowls that came with a separate draining board, basket and chopping board. The draining board can sit on the bench when I need it, or can sit over the larger bowl and drain into the smaller one. Alternatively, the basket fits into the large sink if I want to leave anything to drain, but clear the bench top. The chopping board was a bonus that also fits over the sink bowls. When not in use, all items go into a drawer and out of sight.

We're in the middle of a kitchen reno and decided to go for a large single sink since we are a busy family working full time, and we'll be using our dishwasher most school nights. The dishwasher has half load feature so even if you have just a couple of plates to wash you don't need to wait to fill it up to wash.
If your lifestyle is similar than mine I would not go for 2 sinks which will take up too much of your work bench space!

I dislike 2 section sinks since neither side is big enough to soak large pans with handles. I measured my largest handled pan and got a sink large enough it could sit flat in it. And the deepest sink they make. Love it.

Franke Neptune sink is goregous...but don't get the NPX621....Get the NEX621
