I also like the provincial chair, although it's a more relaxed country style than the table, which I also love.
This is really interesting and is a statement on it's own, obviously it needs chairs so I would suggest a relaxed but formal upholstered chair, something like a all back wihtout arms, with a nice fabric will accentuate the interesting geometry in the table frame. If you were to include chairs like the cross back, they would both fight each other visually as they have different styles and both are timber sections. Busy to look at.
You mentioned balck or oak, both are gorgeous, oak can be found almost black as it's so popular. There aresome gorgeous chairs which have a curved side and are upholstered, so they feel like lounge chairs but tuck into a dining table. Coco republic have them, and the style is found replicated almost anywhere you look.

I agree, I'd go with a classic upholstered style chair, with a black leg.

This third chair with the slight arm is stunning, exactly what I would consider myself because the leg proportions work, it's formal but relaxed and let the table be the talking point. They look so comfortable and would go really well with that sideboard.
Because it feels a little eclectic to use traditional pieces in modern spaces, consider introducing an oriental framed mirror and great lighting pendant.

The 3rd chair with the arms also comes without the arms, so you could have 2 of each and really make an eclectic statement without making the table look cluttered or mismatched.

I agree about the third chair,they would look stunning! The table definitely has an asian look about it,so maybe a big Moroccan or Indian mirror to get that global feel to the room and to mix it up a bit!!

I grew up in Hong Kong and Thailand (because of my fathers job) and over time my parents collected some amazing pieces of furniture and artworks to decorate their home. My mother has this amazing knack of mixing a modern home with antique Chinese pieces to artworks and ornaments from Thailand and the Middle East hence why I love this look in my own home today. It can be challenging mixing traditional Asian furniture into a modern home but it can be easy. There is a great book called China Home by Michael Freeman with Yao Jing full of amazing ideas in this area. I found a couple of chairs that may inspire you. Good luck. I love the table!

Thanks for all the good advice. I have a much clearer idea now on what to pair with the table. I inherited the table from my Mother and I have always loved the mix of asian influences with modern so I love that idea. Thanks
