Which Master Bedroom layout would you prefer?
Comments (7)How committed are you to this floor plan? The bedrooms are a long way from the bathroom and everyone will have to walk through your lounge room to use it. I also like my kitchen to look over the yard, so that I can see the kids playing. I don't think you need a bath in the ensuite, but you do want it to feel spacious. Of the three I like the one with the alfresco area....See MoreWhich layout for the master bedroom would your prefer?
Comments (8)I can't see the images but separate bathrooms would be my preference. A simply larger ensuite is fine but you still have to fill the room with stuff. When my wife and I first lived together it was a two bedroom, 2.5 bath. The closets were small so I just took the 2nd bedroom and also made the ajoining bathroom, mine. It was the best. No staggering of waking up to take turns, and we all poop! But at least it's not in each others face. Over the years, function over style will win hands down. I don't know the size of your closet(s) but expanding that (even a his and hers) would also go along way. The alfresco could be nice but only if you have great weather year-round. If you have a porch / deck / etc, then there's no need. You still need to go to the kitchen to get your coffee / wine / drink. It's not practical....See MoreWhich chore would you most like to skip?
Comments (48)Cleaning the bathroom is a breeze, I have a nylon scrubber that I buy from Coles or Woolies and the cheapest shampoo I can find, after my shower I put a couple of squirts of the shampoo on the scrubber, run it from top to bottom all round my shower ( I have a large double head shower ) and over the floor then spray clean warm water from the top of the wall and let it run down the walls and glass area till the soap has gone, the shower in our 2nd bathroom doesn't have a spray so I use an empty Peters 2 litre icecream container keep filling it up with warm water and run this down the walls, hop out of the shower walk away and let it dry by itself -- once it is dry I have a perfectly streak free shower, for the bath and the vanity basins I use the same method, wipe them over with the scrubber and shampoo, flush with the warm water and leave, wipe the vanity tops, the area around the bath and window area with a damp cloth and hey presto a beautiful clean bathroom, this all takes only a few minutes and I always have a clean bathroom....See MoreWhat to do with fireplace in main bedroom, which was previously kitchen
Comments (24)By viable I mean workable, functional. A chimney sweep or a builder adept in chimneys will give you a report. Certainly enquire about a future gas fitting rather than logs if possible. I say this as a fireplace anywhere is delightful and, if downstairs, it could heat upstairs through the house, to a certain point too. If you look at the quality of the brick laying, you will see that its not meant to be a feature which is why it was rendered, but that is choice only. Certainly seal the bricks. Good luck and stay with it if you can. Everybody loves the romance of a fire....See Morehjdbks
