Ok so long as floor not white

I would close the opening to the bedroom (old kitchen) and put a toilet roughly in the linen press spot. I think this is what Kate was alluding to. A new door should be able to come through the load bearing wall without a lot of expense. Not the tidiest way to have a bedroom door but better than a powder room off the dining.

Hi Zena, IMO, the wall colour and floor tiles are still in good condition so you don't need to renovate it. Your bathroom has a very good shape so if you like Scandinavian style, consider adding a timber cabinet to make it a focal point for your bathroom, and simply add a rug that matches with vanity colour to increase its look. Changing from a traditional mirror to a led mirror to lighten up your space is another good option. You can give your powder room a completely new look by using a in wall toilet, it will help your room look wider and more modern. Looking forward to seeing the photos once this project is done.

I don't think you can get a 'cookie cutter' answer . You'd need to look at , and know about , the room as a whole . My initial thought would be the longer wall as the feature -- you look at it as you enter , and its the plainest , whereas the toilet itself may be strong enough to be a feature , likewise so may be the vanity , especially with the mirror amd tapware etc . But there are so many other possibilities -- for example , I wouldn't want the whole longer wall in white subways ( sort of like Julie Herberts 2nd pic ) but it may look great in the green tiles of pic 1 , especially with say a strong toilet and a pine vanity and pine framed mirror ! Likewise , 3 or even 4 walls in a classy but slightly understated wallpaper may look great ( or 3 in wallpaper and 1 in complimentary tiles , for example ) , but with a plastic basin in a $60 vanity and a $99 toilet , maybe not so flash haha .
