Artificial grass....the good, bad and ugly...any help or advice?
Comments (12)We have just replaced a garden full of hedges with artificial turf. My husband and I installed in ourselves , the grass is easy it's getting it level and putting the right amount of 2mm cracker dust underneath. We have two dogs and three kids and we love it. It depends on the area and how much time you have to look after it. We have installed our own beautiful Sir Walter lawn as well so we are a bit experienced. I put a sprinkler on for a few minutes twice a week for a wash and it also drains fine in bad weather. Look for something mid range you don't need the most expensive ! Look for something with a nice pile height say 30- 35 mm. Ask for some off cuts leave them in the sun and also walk on them see what you like. Here is a pic of what we have done so far. We are having a black spa put in the limestone paving which I sealed and a waterfall down the end on the stone wall. Make sure you check out the smaller companies , as long as it has no lead in it it's worth a go. Wendy from Perth These photos were when we just finished so lawn looks a bit stripey till it settles. We all love it...See MoreWhat style of tile would look good with wooden floorboards?
Comments (2)Hi Eva. I am doing a reno and also looking at the same thing! I have found the Cavalier Bremworth at Carpet Court and really like it. It has a texture which picks up the colors around it and it's softer against the wood and tiles than other carpets I've seen. The attached pic is the colour Legato which is a mid range colour, but there are darker browns or greys and a lighter one too I think. The pic doesn't do it justice, but it really is lovely and worth a look. Good luck!...See MoreWhat colour curtain will look good in my lounge room.
Comments (10)Dear Mary, a track on the ceiling with S-fold heading would look good in this room. It would be terrific as a sheer, but remember that at night people can see in when the light is on - during the day, it will be private. As KK1000 said, a blind in the reveal will make the area private when required, or have lining on a separate track. The fabric doesn't need to be plain, it can include design in the colours you already have in the furniture, rugs or artwork. There are fabulous coarsely woven sheers at the moment and a few samples follow: Most curtains at the moment are falling from the ceiling, as it makes the room seem larger and the S-fold looks good from the outside, rather than gathers - just look about in the meantime, you will see what I mean. Pelmets are making a come-back, but might look like an apology with your leather furniture, unless they are relatively straight and fit up to the cornice....See Morewhat is a good height to hang towel rails above one another
Comments (4)towel rails for bath sheets about 180cm long should have the low one about 85cm off the floor and high one about 170cm off the floor so the towels don't overlap......See MoreSam Triglone
