Hi Melanie yes this lovely brick colour does cause some grief for homeowners when wanting to update colour scheme without rendering.... !!!First of all I would recommend you keep the downpipes blended with the bricks rather than highlight them. Secondly I agree that charcoal grey would be two harsh against your brick colour so maybe look at a three tone colour scheme to breakdown the harshness of a dark colour against the light bricks. For example, dark on gutters and possibly on some smaller trims and mid tone on fascia and the vertical timbers.... obviously the 3rd colour is the brick colour...

I think your biggest problem is the paintwork, particularly as it seems quite dark in the space anyway. If you sell the furniture & replace it you will run at a loss, so I would put that money into repainting instead. Go for a much lighter colour, like Dulux Natural White. Beige & pale blue absolutely work together, & when the beige is on the floor only it will be far less of an impact, it's actually quite a neutral flooring to work with, and certainly a 'beige' floorboard will lends itself well to a Scandinavian look. Also you really want to mazximise the light in the space to achieve a Scandi look so the whiter walls will help this too. If you search "beige and blue" on Houzz I would be surprised if there weren't countless schemes incorporating these colours. Good luck :)

Thanks for your insight, yes I'd looked at Surfmist as well, clients seem quite pro grey so trying to subtly work their likes into the scheme as well, as I think they woule like a grey house however I think the monochrome black / white is classic and will endure the test of time longer than some shades of grey, also if they were opting for white windows may be more inclined to look at grey for the house colour however feel that the black windows will work nicer with the lexicon and tie in the black elements. Hi Susan, do you have any photos of the bathrooms you could upload? Years ago we renovated our bathroom in our 1970's brick house by having the wall tiles resurfaced and the result was really good - the original wall tiles were a light apricot colour and the floor tiles were mosaics in khaki (a terrible combination) but we couldnt afford to retile so we kept the khaki coloured mosaics on the floor (even though we didnt like them) and just resurfaced the wall tiles in a an off-white colour. The end look was actually better than we expected and we ended up liking the floor tiles So if you have to do a major colour change I would suggest just resurfacing the wall tiles and keeping the floors as is. But even less cost would be to add some interesting and colourful accessories to off-set the offending tile colours. For example blue/green tones like aqua, teal, duck egg and eau de nil actually work really well with orange/peach so adding some towels and accessories in this colour could really transform bathroom number 3. And dont underestimate large plants - plants look great in bathrooms and adding some really large ones will break up the tiled areas
