Tumbled marble might look out of place if it's the only natural texture in the room. If you want to keep a similar contemporary mosaic, then 2 things for you; Firstly, measure for yourself the actual mosaic sheet - don't take the written dimensions as gospel. Secondly, once you have a couple of favourites in mind, take a look at tile trims to incorporate with the mosaic. Remember, you can cut the mosaic sheets into thinner strips. Trim could be square edge tube style trims or even L shape angle in either aluminium or chrome and can be used at the sides of your mosaic or, in the case of the angle trim, used in multiple vertical lines running through the mosaic. Knowing the dimensions you have to play with will make it easier to design a solution that keeps grout width to appropriate size of 2-3mm for wall tiles.

yep, stunning. I been drawing something similar for a while and it's awesome to see your ab fab results after your OP. I got interested in some ikea solid timber benchtops, not nearly as nice as yours, and thought I'd combo them with black cabinets, white stone and white walls (just a "what if" design). so I totally love your kitchen. it's great how well the tiles look now compared to when you first posted, they really excite me! and the lightshades against the black wall. and what's that dining area I see? that smoked glass table top with timber trestles and black chairs and that black and white rug? where you get those?! I want to see more! congratulations, it's hard not to gush! big ups to Mldesign too.

Ours is 950 and 2.4m long.I think as far as looks go, it depends how long the island is. If it's a very long island and less than 900, it would look out of proportion. Likewise, if it's a very short one, it would look wrong to have the width any more than 1m wide.

Hi, Are you going to be concerned about noise attenuation coming from the games / home theatre room to the rest of the house? As solid core doors will work better than hollow core when closed at reducing the sound transmission. Sealing the door frames and adding ceiling baffles will help further but would need to be considered at the design stage not as an after thought. The solid doors by themselves over hollow doors may drop the STC rating by 6 to 8dB which is noticeable. Andrew
