Kitchen splashback help & ideas pls
Comments (10)HI Lyn Depends on where you live, but here in Auckland, Winstone Glass will give you a glass splashback in ANY Resene colour, which would mean you could get exactly what you want. Personally I have a white kitchen with white speckled granite tops, and all walls white, so I went with a black glass splashback that has an ever so slight sparkle at night, doesn't sparkle in daytime. Looks stunning. You can get cheap pre made splashbacks at Mitre 10, Bunnings etc, but they don't use the glasskote technology, so you can see in behind them, whereas Winstones ones, you can have white and not see the wall at all. Good luck Julie...See MoreLooking for kitchen splashback or tile ideas
Comments (10)Cherry Pop - great looking tiles, however your decsion to use them as splashback will depend on their size and the height of the available area to tile. With such a strong pattern you don't want to trim a tile to fit the height. The ideal solution would be to install the window so that the distance between the underside of the window architrave, near the bottom of the window, and the installed benchtop is exactly one tile in height. This will need some careful measurement and juggling of trades to get it perfect. Or you could change your pool tile to be less of a feature such as this simple, white, square, contemporary mosaic. As it is smaller, and has no pattern then it doesn't matter if a row needs to be trimmed to fit in the available wall space. Comments (23)Hi Bonnie, What a beautiful kitchen. The overhead black glass doors look great. My thoughts are: Option 1, modern look: Black glass splashback to match the beautiful glass doors. I have used on my projects before, link below for your reference, and they work beautifully for a modern look and very easy to clean and maintain. https://www.houzz.com.au/hznb/photos/kitchen-design-monia-basso-architects-modern-kitchen-melbourne-phvw-vp~144827524 Option 2, industrial chic look: Stainless steel splashback to match benchtop. I have used on my projects before, link below for your reference, and they work very well for a industrial chic/or industrial modern look and, also, very easy to clean or maintain. https://www.houzz.com.au/hznb/photos/industrial-kitchen-monia-basso-architects-industrial-kitchen-melbourne-phvw-vp~144828526 My other thought is to keep the splashback height the same across the kitchen to align with the underside of the overhead cupboards, although you must check Australian Standards for minimum height for the area behind cooktop, this is a must for safety. All the best. I hope this helps. Monia Basso...See MoreLaundry Splashback ideas please for difficult to match benchtop
Comments (22)Hi Again. I hope I am placing this in the right place. We have finally finished the laundry splashback so I am wanting to show photos particularly to those that offered advice before. I can't believe 4 months have passed since then. Between personal issues and the Covid we had to put on hold for a while. Anyway, we settled on Pressed Tine in a simple pattern which we painted gloss black. My only regret is the white switches and power points (as we never thought would go black), but hope to change that soon. Hope you all love it as much as we do....See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
