Comments (30)Hi Julia, the new pantry is only 30cm deep which going by Ramans measurement of 31cm it will fit beautifully, and a great depth for a pantry. I have already mentioned that he will need to remove the kick board at the rear and side of the new pantry so it fits and is flush into the corner. And yes with my old program I used a wall in place of a panel which I don't have but when you look at that in 3d the wall shows all the way to the ceiling which isn't what I intended. But you will notice that I have again explained that he will need to have a panel the same as the kitchen material to give it a built in look and won't expose the side of the fridge which faces the new pantry. Cost wise this is the best with maximum extra storage. Hopefully Raman can line the new pantry up with the top of the other cabinets keeping the Airconditioner where it is. The second floor plan is just something he might like to consider once he gets over the enormous effort of buying their new home as this will give even more storage. Adding two new 800cm x 30cm pantries with 40cm doors , this exact width to be confirmed and or adjusted by Raman once the fridge is fitted. This is very cost effective and will add that much needed extra storage and the doors will keep everything tidy and keep little hands accessing the pantries. Raman I did this floor plan for you so that it will be easier for you to visualize how your kitchen can look, Very exciting moving into your new home cheers...See MoreTwo toned kitchen - materials choice
Comments (2)Hello, thank you for your response. For some reason the site defaulted to the Australian discussion forum when I posted but I just went with it anyways and didn't think much of it. I understand your point about different perspectives in different countries though, thanks. I know this is all based on personal preference but I like either option of so I am looking for some other opinions. The developer has been very helpful with the different options and we plan to speak to some other local professionals as well. We have seen the materials in person (except for cabinets) in very small sample sizes and all of the colours seem to compliment eachother but for the purpose of this post a digital photo was the only option of course....See MoreBest choice of material/finish for kitchen cabinetry?

Comments (9)Hi Elle, "staples" is another way of describing something that is commonly used. The most common is white, so much so that white board used for cabinet interiors is made in far greater quantities and therefore costs around 75% less than all other colour boards. There is also good reason we mainly use white, because this allows light to bounce around, making it easier to see inside. White also doesn't show up dirt and dust as much as the darker grey - to - blacks and require less cleaning, and does not show wipe-down smears, scuffs, scratches & finger marks. We do see the darker colours being used where people want something different and they are happy pay a premium for this, where I would not really call colours other than white "staples" by definition. From our experience most clients who still want a high end kitchen prefer to use white interiors and spend their money instead on better external kitchen materials, finishes and appliances. Hope this helps, Malcolm....See MoreR.Z.Owens Constructions
