Hi all our terrazzo bench has been installed and in use for over 12 months. This bench was poured in Italy and then finished by a stonemason off-site type. When 1st installed I spilt some lemon juice which created a mark so we are careful not to use acidic items on the bench. I am not sure if this happened before or after we sealed it but I think it’s important to seal any natural stone product and we used the sellers recommended product called “slow drying sure seal” but I won’t vouch for its effectiveness as I can’t compare it to anything. Over all we love the look but I think you need to be a little more careful around natural products than engineered ones so it may depend on your lifestyle

my suggestions (subject to accurate dimensions) include the new ensuite with extra wide mirror doored wall cabinets) a dressing area in the hallways adding a biw to the small bedroom and updating the family bathroom would allow for more generous shower and vanity and a handbasin in the toilet (and the small rectangles in the dressing area represent chests of drawers)

I would confirm with your suppier if smaller tiles are available, and if so are they thinner? Usually the larger the tile the thicker it needs to be. I have also seen some porcelain tiles that have a very realistic terrazzo like pattern on them from Cerdomus Tiles in Richmond Victoria, so they are probably available elsewhere. They are tougher, more hardwearing and cheaper than terrazzo, but you need a good tiler to ensure that you don't get an obvious pattern repeat as the tiles are identical (whereas terrazzo is random). I really like that floor. I hope you are able to keep it once the complexities of waterproofing are revealed. Really large tiles would not be era appropriate. And they were moving away from subway tiles by then. Perhaps 20-25cm square in running bond for that decade? Colour will be easier to pick when the green is gone. I think bright whites could be useful accents but were not really available back then, except whitewash. So depends on how true to the age you want to be or if you’d prefer to have your own blend of the best of two eras.
