My husband and I bought a 1960s house that required a lot of work prior to moving in. Due to budget, the first phase of the renovation has included the 3 bedrooms, hallways and living room. My husband (a carpentry apprentice/ qualified landscaper) has mostly done the work except painting and finishing off the plastering/cornices which we hired tradesman to do. The kitchen/dining, bathroom and outdoors is still to go! I have attaches some before and after shots!
We have painted the outside of our timber house white. A world of difference from the dark brown it was originally. In the throes of going white inside. Slowly.
It's a toss up between my fabulous new laundry/bathroom and re-landscaping the backyard. The laundry is now not only functional but attractive as well. The backyard still requires a few finishing touches but has gone from suffering form too many episodes of Burke's Backyard to having three cohesive zones.
