I agree with Mel N. It's a relatively closed space and I think with the frames and the light fitting, less is more. An obvious curtain rod would be a step too far I think - pleated curtains on a hidden track would be how I would go.

Hi You can also get a gyprocker to make this up as a premade L shaped bulkhead then it can just be attached with some angle on site. We do it all the time for coffer ceilings. Try talking to your local ceiling installer. Cheers

We've just installed roller blinds. We're on acreage so privacy is not an issue. However, we did put block-out blinds in the bedrooms (for sleep purposes) and sunscreen mesh fabric blinds in all other rooms. Re the latter, you can see through them whilst still retaining privacy. They stop 85% of the sun's heat and up to 99% UV. We moved to the northern rivers area of NSW earlier this year so we'll see how we fare in the summer. I suspect the see-through blinds will be down most of the time but because they're almost transparent they don't block the light.

It will depend on what size fridge you have and what space you have allowed, the full height Panels are approx 18 thick ea, if you are restricted for width you could just go with the one panel that would go next to the base cabinets and forgo a wall panel, The overhead cabinet would then extend from the Panel across to the wall If the cost to build the fitted fridge is too expensive, then you already have the light fittings above the island just chose a cheaper light shade until you can afford what you want, I think it's more important to do the built in fridge at this stage, hopefully you can still get matching panels and overhead cabinet. so many decisions.
