Hi Sofia I definitely think brick lay would work better on the walls in the bathroom purely because you have a 30x30 on the floor and a 30x60 on the wall. You will find the tiles could look out of place trying to stack them. It would be a different matter if they did not share 1 or more dimension. You could hang your mirror so it covered about 1/4 of the "floor tile" and 3/4 of the white above the centre of the sink. Alternatively, tiling the entire back wall with the "floor tiles". The first option may make the bathroom feel smaller if the shower takes up more than 1/3 of the back wall. because the water could seep through the joints between the new tiles and sit between the two layers and affect the seal and also raise the height of the floor and affect the slope to the waste outlets..but, why do you want to retile if you're not using the bathroom??...for immediate resale consider bathroom wall to wall bathroom carpet, new wall paint, new vanity, taps and light fittings which should also be cheaper than tiling over the top and, if it's not allowed by the body corporate, it will be a risk to future sales as it should not satisfy a proper building inspection

Hi there, tiles on the floor of a bedroom? It sounds a bit cold underfoot unless you are having underfloor heating installed, but then perhaps you are renovating in warmer climes than where I live! I would recommend going for a matte or satin finish in the bedroom as the gloss could look a little sterile.also If you have a connecting ensuite, you wouldnt want to run the risk of slipping on the floor if you have wet feet :o

Beware that if tiling over tiles your floor will increase in height of tile and adhesive cement. Therefore the bottom of your doors will need to be adjusted because they might not open. (Carpenter needs to take door off the hinges and cut off the bottom of door that is the wrong height). Your skirting boards will need to be removed, then re installed. If you having aluminium sliding doors, then the new height of tile may look silly. The height of the tiled floor may not be even with your bamboo floor, and cause a tripping hazard. Also if the floor underneath your existing tiles is wood, it might not be strong enough to take the weight of two lots of tiles. Trying to save money on not taking up existing tiles, may cause extra costs in other ways.
