Comments (13)I love the aqua blue and browns you have for this room. Given your furnishings, they have a mid century modern style which you could capitalize on. (see the bedside table in this image is like yours)You can easily create a base of browns and a cream or patterned rug and then find some bedlinens in the cyan/aqua colourhttps://www.houzz.com/products/organic-ironwork-duvet-cover-prvw-vr~501905 and then find a fabric that matches your duvet cover to cover the chair...It would be nice if you could either spray paint the bed (which I think is black metal) a silver metallic colour to lessen a harsh line. I would also remove the shiny sheer drape you have in front of the curtains. Why are they there? You seem to have venetian blinds as well. Can you hang the mirror up higher or is it part of the dresser? The base should be about 20cm from the top of the dresser to create some height to the room. I would also lower or even remove the painting in the room as it is too high...For the other furniture, I would rather work on some simple basics and then we can adjust them around. I think your bed is in the only place it can be.......See MoreHelp required to revamp Baltic pine bedroom furniture!
Comments (13)Hi buchlo, if you use a chalk paint you don't need to prime etc. I recently used Annie Sloan chalk paint with Annie Sloan wax finish to paint a dark wood TV unit. It looks amazing. It lightened up our room, I put new handles on which I involved filling the old holes up. The chalk paint covers everything. It is expensive but great finish. The wax easy to apply and drys hard. I love it. There are only a few outlets in Australia, I am in rural WA and buy on line from a shop in Carine in Perth. Postage is reasonable considering it is paint. I am about to start some new projects using it. Lots on you tube on how to use the chalk paint. The colour range is just lovely. If you want a white finish go antique white as has better coverage than pure white. Don't forget to post before and after pics no matter what you do. Ps I paint everything, but look up 'how and what' to use so you get the finish you want and you only have to do it once...See MoreHelp: brown carpet, brown furniture
Comments (28)Talking doona covers and accessories. I buy mine from Ezibuy, they can have some lovely creams, although at present they are into blue, yellow and mauve and Spotlight also have some beautiful sets which like ezibuy, almost always include euro cushions, a must I think, and also some pretty throw cushions. I have attached the two photo's below that I have recently purchased for both the spare room and master bedroom. The first photo is from Spotlight called the Belmondo Regal Princess and the second is called Dream Weaver from ezibuy. I have the throw too....See MoreWhat type of bedroom furniture suits this room best?
Comments (24)Hi laura_85 Your room looks lovely and the architecture looks classic 60,70s with high vaulted ceilings. You could furnish with a retro vibe with mid century modern inspired bedsides (see below) and I would recommend a contrast to the timber with an upholstered bedhead. Keep the furniture and bedhead shapes in a streamlined design to be more modern. A bed base on legs will keep an open feel to the room. An accent chair is also a great addition to the space- the butterfly chair suggested would be great. Add plenty of textures (bedding, cushions, throws) in neutral tones to soften the room. A couple of small prints above the bed will finish off the look. Consider the window furnishings as well in your selections. These triangular windows are tricky and limit your choices. Best wishes...See More- 9 years ago
