Yes I must have ;-)). I planned to post earlier but had to hunt out the tin. It says to leave for 24hrs between coats but that’s dependent on weather conditions/humidity. I managed to get 2 coats on in a day if I started early enough & did the 2nd late afternoon. Yes, it came from Bunnings. There are others brands such as Feast Watson but I found this one really good. Put it this way those benchtops of mine (in bathroom & laundry) have been in place for over 5 years & they still look great. Correct, if you’re joining the board, don’t coat the end grain but make sure you coat the grain of your sink cutouts & also silicone well around the sinks. Good luck with it!

Hi siriuskey, House plans going okay but shelved for a while, when son gets back from working away he can find out more on rules and regulations just so we don't have plans drawn then find no go with local council. I have taken on board your suggestions about the outdoor area re roof I like the slats and they should give good shade. I have always liked the look of ply and we will price that vs other materials. Those blue $9.95 tarpaulins ! On a serious note , like Kate , I'd suggest photos . If you are going to do a job , do it well , and that means as well as being quick and easy , it needs to look the part . If your house is red brick and orange tiles , or 4 shades of grey render and a pink roof , and even if the shed can't be seen from the street , YOU will still need to look at it . I'd suggest 'matching' the shed style , even the roof pitch -- at the very least paint it the same , but without knowing the style and situation , its just a guess what the best cladding would be .

You see how horrible the green looks now ? Even the brown ? That was trendy in the 90's . Grey will go the same way , personally i feel it has . Wood is warm , the steel blue in one of the pictures is underutilised IMO , charcoal hides a multitude of sins . I'd definitely break a verandas look , with a charcoal base . I'd go with natural varnished timber verticals , and be tempted to do a lighter steel blue deck and handrails , as well as the gutters . I suspect the gutters won't even look out of place against the brown roof , as long as they look light and slightly industrial ( steel blue does that ) . You could even go as light as surfmist for the gutters / rails / deck without it looking 'funny' . The garage would be a challenge -- I'd personally try and get an orangy beige to reference the bricks , but that would be tricky . So probably settle for steel blue or surfmist or whatever shade of light silvery blue you opt for . I wonder how long your windows would last painted though -- given their age , I suspect they may have started to oxidise , even if they haven't , they would need a lot of prep . By keeping fairly light colours on your gutters . handrails etc , the windows maybe won't look too bad , as they look a relatively light golden shade . Personally , I'd consult an expert about the windows . Hopefully given you something to think about ?
