Yes they do collect dust, but I must say they can also make a room look beautifully classic

Only if you are happy to invest in a chandelier cleaner. I loved mine at the time, but never going back to stuffy, formal interiors. May add one for quirky fun in modern clean setting.

in my last house we had a chandelier in the loo for a bit of fun... after the first night we put in a dimmer switch so we didn't go blind in the small hours... but I love chandeliers. Fun, class, if you love them have them. And if you don't love them, don't have them. Sorted :)

My friend used to have one of those but it got broken in couple weeks and they can be useless because light globe died quickly

I will be putting up an amazing chandelier in my kitchen it is from early settler but it's brushed chrome. It's a statement piece. I will post a photo one I find one!

Love, love, love chandeliers when they are used tastefully. Have used them in conjunction with coastal/country style home, timber floors and dados, huge recycled timber table to seat twelve (casual form or bench seats) with two crystal chandeliers above. What is not timber, is painted off white. The living room is again timber and off white, with white leather furniture, open fire place and a huge central crystal chandelier.......but certainly not formal.

Chandeliers not as hard to clean as in old days. From most light shops you can purchase a spray that you spray on then when dry the dust falls off. You need to put a towel underneath to collect the falling dust. Not sure about grease though.
