Hey Jen… Love your living space…really fab! An oversized piece of art as a bed head is stunning (and there are NO rules!) … but if you're worried about leaning against it in bed…you could indulge in some fabric love and just suspend a panel from a rail above with some cool finials. Means you can decide exactly how much you line up with your architecture, and you get some hardware in amongst the fabric injection. I bet I'm too late anyhow! xx

Bravo to all these amazing creative minds. I hate wasting stuff that still has life in it. By the way, though I have read that some pallets are treated with a fumigant which is toxic. Generally, make sure pallets are stamped with “HT”, which means they haven’t been exposed to chemicals (at least not in the treating process.) Avoid unmarked pallets or those with “MB” for methyl bromide. To Ella Kate Thrupp....."a woven piece"...as in a wall rug or a tapestry suggested by yours truly and Tribbletrouble441452k7 Trek? Or maybe you have a more novel idea in mind? Have you come across any "woven" art in your professional travels? I have a friend who actually weaves tapestries on a loom as they did centuries ago thread by thread. They are exquisite and each a unique artwork. She works professionally on commission Very time consuming, meticulous and expensive and she also does it simply for relaxation and sells them. Wonder would there be anything along this line available commercially today? Such a "woven piece" would make an enormous impact in any room, so beautiful and unique in a bedroom especially if a design woven to order...but Yikes $$$$$. Afterthought...a painted MURAL designed to order might be a touch of luxury if you engaged somebody to do it and they presented you with a series of pictures for you to choose from.....that would not fall down! I did one for a friend's guest donga in Charleville QLD...she wanted a fantasy and had a lot of input herself, it was a collaborative effort and she got exactly what she wanted. Can't go wrong with a mural...can always paint over it when you want something different.

Hello Allison, I wouldn't rush into anything the room looks harmonious as is. As you have just moved in - live with it for a while and see how you feel . As a feature rather than above the bed [ which is a lovely shape - and nay art is going to look a bit odd] you could inject some colour with a throw / folded rug at the end of the bed. Something with an aged texture like washed velvet would look good. Old gold / mustard would look nice with your cushions if you like them - if not find new cushions you love and work your colours from there. You could also have similar cushion on the window seat. I agree a mirror is good in a room but it is important not to clutter bedrooms. Alternately you could go for a soft wall colour on all walls. Panels could work but are quite a lot of effort - I would try to textile first.- they can always be returned if not suitable. All the best.
