Wall art for lounge room, help pls
Comments (8)I would suggest hanging a large moroccan woven fabric or mat, just use a length of dowel along the top edge, and hang it up. It would add great texture and also a casual feel to the room. Dress up the couch with a bunch of patterned cushions and a bolster moroccan style. A silky fabric sun filter curtain would finish off the look. https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/299911656409300053/ https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/405675878916401870/ https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/431219733049382426/...See MorePlease help with lounge room design...
Comments (23)Also love the buffet....it could be the "hero" of the room. It is beautiful and they are so hard to come by at a reasonable price. I have a much cheaper style mid century buffet and initially had the TV on top of it, but now the TV is wall mounted above it. The distance between the wall and the couch wall is about 4m and we have no issues with the TV being too high...you definitely need to factor that in if you wall mount it though...luckily I had a handyman friend helping me, otherwise I would have put the TV too high. With the TV being mounted, it actually makes the buffet more of a feature and anything that is put on the buffet is now "displayed" instead of being part of clutter with the TV. It looks great and I know yours will too if you wall mount the TV. That is the great thing about the mid century buffets...they seem to fit in just as well as modern furniture as they do with the classic furniture....and because your is "classic", it will never date...a great investment....See MoreFeature wall - Dark grey colour? Comments (20)remove the table under the TV, place it on the dresser in the corner but on a diagonal tilt so it can be seen clearly from the couch. The lamp just looks wrong - I would remove that all together and replace it with a large Pot Plant to soften the corner. Nick Nacks etc can only be chosen by you as you have to like them but I would go for something either antique to match the lovely ornate fireplace or modern like gold, silver, brass glass. I would replace the ceiling light fitting with something modern matching the colours of your Nick Nack's. I am not a fan of the mirror I would place a large mirror on the wall that is currently utilised by the TV - this will reflect the light from the windows - again use the colours of your Nick Nacks and new light fitting for the mirror frame or go entirely frame-less. I would then find a large / modern piece of art to place above the mantel. Obviously my choices / ideas come with no budget in mind but you don't have to do everything at once..... spread the cost if you need to do it all bit by bit. Good luck with what every you choose to do....See MoreSian Sampey
