Carpet as a rug?
Comments (5)If I were to go down this path I would try a carpet supplier that stocks end of rolls, off spec colours etc. The carpet will be cheaper than a regular carpet store, they'll be able to arrange the binding and you'll be able to select your piece of carpet there and then. By the time you buy the piece of carpet and spend a few hundred dollars on binding, you might not be that far ahead than purchasing a ready-made rug though....See MoreIdeas on art and rug in living room
Comments (26)Tsk tsk... Art at the least is something which resonates with you, for any reason, great Art is a bit different..... Buy a prepared canvas and some colours you like and have at it. Then hang it up on the wall.... I would suggest a large horizontal canvas close to the width of the sofa for that wall....See MoreRug for a mid-century / electric home with concrete floors
Comments (11)Happy home - the gold light is from beacon, it's called the aksel pendant (they have a few different styles in this range). The grey one over the dining table is from West Elm - it is called the mobile chandelier, we have the smaller size, but it comes in a larger version too - http://www.westelm.com.au/mobile-chandelier-large-w1885?quantity=1&attribute_1=Antique%20Brass Both light fittings are still available. Thanks to everyone else for the suggestions, it's going to be a tough decision - and the bigger issue will be finding two rugs, as I will no doubt need one under the dining table and another in the lounge area. So finding two, that work together in a complimentary way... eeek!...See MoreCan rug discolour my new floor board?
Comments (4)i believe a rug padding may minimise fading. I would go for 100% Jute in natural colour, ( the colour you would see in a cane basket). Temple and Webster have a large selection of affordable rugs. I have heard if you Wait at least 3 months for floors to cure before placing a rug, it May minimise fading....See Morenmohring
