I have a question for all home renovators....Are all kitchen sinks brands the same? Prices range so much but isn't a kitchen sink a kitchen sink? We are planning on an undermount in stone, advice greatly appreciated
No, sinks are not all sinks! There are different grades of stainless steel used, obviously design related details are branded and that is based on reputation. Naturally as in cars etc we pay a premium for companies that invest time and money into producing a superior product. So brands matter here also. Undermount sinks are beautiful, but practically, you want to avoid the current lean towards sharp square bowls, as cleaning the corners are more time consuming than a standard corner. Also you want the bowl/s insulated, with either the spray on insulate material or the adhered mateiral, this reduced the sound of clanging cutlery and the tinny sound that cheaper sinks have, particularly imrtant with deep bowls. There are price points to cover everything from basic insets, to undermounts and accessory packs, basket wastes and built in overflows. I like franke for evolving design and extensive range, but there are plenty of no name generics that match this if you know what to question. Good luck.
