I so agree with Sarah. Let the floor be timber and the cupboards fade away into the walls with a soft putty colour. Those lights so need replacing also...there is a conical clear glass pendant light that would look good here! Pearl Lighting in Willoughby have them and elsewhere. Dont know what you are thinking for the floor, but there are some wonderful jute rugs around such as Armidillo. Enjoy your room! Victoria

I think the main thing to think about would be traffic flow. You need to make sure you have adequate space between the chairs and the kitchen bench to allow passage through to the meals area, and between the two-seater and the sliding doors to access the deck. You might want to use masking tape to mark all the placements out to see how they fit and how the traffic flow is. You might also want to think about whether you want to be in the al fresco area looking in at the back of a couch. Personally, I'd probably go for chairs there, but that's just me. I like some of the pieces you've chosen, especially the larger sofa and the chairs. And it looks like a very nice space to play around with.

The bottom pic is the actual staged room ? I absolutely love the floor -- such a warm rich colour ! Assuming your grey L couch is similar condition to that one , I'd follow most of their cues . I dislike units where a join can be seen though , and if you are wall mounting the TV , I reckon you are better to have just 1 of those units ( there looks to be 2 in the picture ) . The white vcertainly works and would be my choice , the timber ones look really smart ( especially the unnamed one with the $1549 pricetag ) but I'd be worried they won't stand out enough . Likewise , a really dark brown or black solid timber would work ( see the one under the B & W picture ) , BUT there are some really cheap and nasty dark veneer or vinyl units that look good for a month , and that has cheapened the genuine ones IMO . I like the mono tones they've used , BUT again in that staged room , I would have done a fluffy bright red rug instead of the pretty nothing one they went for -- black , white , your grey , and a red rug would add some real wow !
