Asphalt/bitumen could get sticky in summer. Not a fan of the smell either...... An Australian Sandstone paver would look pretty classy. Not cheap but everyone else has concrete.......because it's cheaper........ Although once you add stamped, oxides, patterns, etc. to concrete the more expensive alternatives aren't so dear after all.

I have installed the same product (Grasscel) here in Perth for the front yard which accesses the garages, so I actually turn on the grass and reverse into the garage. we have had it in place for almost twelve months now and I drive over it at least twice a day. It has held up really well. The grasscel product doesn't require the cracker dust or blue metal underlay, just levelled and compacted sand. we chose a hardwearing grass variety and have had no problems thus far. I would recommend it as it is really nice to have the coolness of the grass as opposed to any sort of hard surface driveway. The reticulation is installed prior to the laying of the cells and it looks after itself. We fertilise to keep the more trafficked areas green and leave the cut a little longer on the grass. there are way too many colours going on here. Your home is a traditional style and yes the cream and green are traditional colours with the reddish brick however why did you put grey around the windows??also you have red scollops above the grey and it doesn't do the house justice. What colour was there before you painted the grey?? considering grey is a more modern colour I think you were attempting to modernise the externals. in saying that the roof would have been better to paint charcoal the cream in white and then the grey and then the driveway would be done in a grey stain. but if you leave it the way it is and cover the red scolloping above the windows the same grey and the bricks below the windows near the ground grey as well then get the drive way restained to the reddish colour of the bricks on the house and then it would blend more and look inviting.

You could follow the curve of the driveway and add a small pebble edging, this could also go along front of steps to bring up height, then this will compliment the lawn and garden area, plant with architectural grasses for great look .
