Depends what your design skills are like. I carefully trawled through dozens of curtain photos on Houzz, selecting the ones I liked. When I showed them to the curtain maker, she carefully explained how that not only did they not suit the rooms or my house (I have old-fashioned tastes in a modern house, was her way of putting it!) but in some cases they wouldn't even fit the windows. My advice is thus to get some advice from an expert first - you can always ignore it later, but it may save you some time. I'm now very happy with all the curtains suggested by the curtain lady - and I still have my dream curtains (pooled silk with swags, romans with fake swags . . .) in my Houzz album . . .

Hi I have similar bedroom furniture I went with a feature wall after advice from Bristol store the lady there had interiors experience. She recommended Porters Paint Hampton Blue I was nervous about painting it but she confidently told me that I would love it. I would suggest hanging a large moroccan woven fabric or mat, just use a length of dowel along the top edge, and hang it up. It would add great texture and also a casual feel to the room. Dress up the couch with a bunch of patterned cushions and a bolster moroccan style. you could just pick a colour from your colourful rug to be your curtain colour ..you could also choose a pattern that's already existing in the room..ie swirls or flowery or stripes etc .. the fabric will depends on if you want flowy or heavier if you want two layers and block out.. and the type ..ie heavier for Roman blinds..and drapes etc lighter fabric for curtains
