I found that a few basic towel rails mounted on the back of my wardrobe door works for me :D heels can hang on the rails, or i slot the toe of the shoes in behind the rail. If you've got a spare wall, mounting them on a wall would be even better.... and ballet flats in labelled boxes: 'Dark Coloured Flats' (navy, black) and 'Coloured Flats' (all the other colours ;) ) .....if you need inspo, just search 'shoe storage' on Pinterest. In a previous post on this discussion forum I described my laundry bin...a 30L cardboard barrel which I lined with an old shower curtain and decorated still reigns supreme on the lid of my top loder, Nobody knows what it is and its a never ending source of admiration from an artistic angle. Lacking floor space the only option was to sit it up there or out on the veranda.It works as a cat toy too. It has, however, acquired some vents in the lid since some of my art shirts are often a bit oily and I learnt that some oils tend to self combist in enclosed spaces and can be the cause of house fires. Hi @sophie0lm Congrats on the developments in this plan. It's working much more successfully for the orientation of your site. It's great to see you've taken on feedback and pushed the design to improve it. A few observations: 1. I agree with comments about the study nook. I would make that a storage cupboard for umbrellas, shoes etc for leaving and departing at the front door. 2. The view both into the master bedroom and guest toilet from living areas is not ideal. I would suggest turning the toilet room 90 degrees clockwise (so it's long wall runs along the back of the stairs). You should be able then to have a more private entry to the toilet and master bedroom - and I would even suggest having the internal entry from the garage at that point as well, so that cleans up your entry hall. 3. I would consider pushing to improve the whole WIP / Laundry / Linen arrangement. The WIP is quite detached from the kitchen. There may be something in mirroring the whole kitchen - so the entry to the WIP is then where the fridge is, and it sits behind the kitchen, rather than off to the side. The linen will then sit where the WIP, and having a solid wall to the deck so you can not see into these service areas from your deck and living space. 4. I would also suggest putting a wall up along the back of the stairs upstairs so the rumpus can double as a fourth bedroom. My husband started a tradition after we were married: he made the coffee and brought it into the bedroom so we could enjoy a quick chat before he headed off to work and I got up to ready the kids for school. Now that we're retired, we take turns making the coffee and usually sit to enjoy it in the family room while we check emails or catch up on the news feeds. Life isn't so hectic for us now and I'm so glad we still share the morning coffee tradition.
