When I got the colour samples I thought monument was the one for sure and that Ironstone was too blue. However once home and looking at the colours in different spots, Ironstone really stood out out as a complement to the brick. The brick is inside as well but we are intending to render that. The ironstone looks very nice with Dulux Hogbristle etc and these are colours and tones that I love so am hoping will look good. We have started on the bathroom which I am keeping simple, black matt floor and gloss white walls and adding colour with accessories. Thanks all with your comments. I am sure I will have more questions as we go along as this is a fairly big job!!

prefer sheers hung on window frame as in option 3 and, if you choose drapes to pull across over the top of the sheers, suggest the track about 2/3 distance between the top of the window frame and the bottom of the ceiling cornice (similar to the look in option 2) but need to be long enough to cover the bottom of the window frame and wide enough to meet in the corner and be drawn back about 20-30cms at the sides depending on the thickness of the drapes

I am planning an update for the large kitchen/dining/family area and new paint and floorcoverings throughout my late 1980's house. Looking for advice please on which white to paint my walls and doors to work to best advantage with: - doeskin (mustardy yellowish ) colour aluminium windows/sliding doors (painting window frames is beyond my budget) - jarrah (redddish brown) wood frames to main room doors in living area (thinking of changing these from stained to shiny wood finish) - a few special (handmade by hubby) jarrah furniture pieces to mix in with new styling. -woodgrained pattern vinyl tiles or bamboo flooring - new kitchen - probably simple white kitchen handleless cupboards (something that doesn't date too much) and a light speckled stone benchtop (room has low natural light) Was thinking of pale walls not to compete with yellow of windows or dark door frames and using splashes of greens in plants and accessories, gold and limited black, But maybe this is all wrong. Help please! What do you think? Some paint colours that may be possiblities among others are: Dulux: Natural White, Antique White USA. White Duck 1/8th, British Paints: White Beam Taubmans: Milk Cloud, Cradle White.
