Agree with above comment, the boards and colours are individually lovely, however together do not seem to enhance the other.

I don't have a choice on paint colors and only have a selection of floorboards to choose from. These 2 were the lightest of the lot that didn't have any grey tones in it. I am leaning towards the top one to provide contrast with my woods and browns and the predominantly light brown/beige interior.

I gather from your saying no colour choice that the picture is of your existing interior and that you don't intend repainting the walls... if that's the case then I would go with the Havannah Oak as it will provide some more warmth and depth to your already light interior colours, it will still work with your darker timber furniture... I feel the bleached teak will wash out too much and floor, walls and ceiling will all look the same

It's a new house and everything has been pre picked but we had variations and requested to change the tiled areas to floorboards. Hence I get a say on it. I am also not sure how much natural light the house will get as the garden is in the back. I worry havannah will make the house dark. I've asked 3 interior designer friends. 2 said white 1 said havannah.

I like the bleached teak too but not with the paint colour particularly the one for the skirting as it has quite a green undertone to it, does that mean all the internal doors and trims are that colour too?... the wall colour isn't that bad and the bleached teak would work well with it, but I would seriously reconsider painting all skirting, trims and doors white... don't worry, I know all about variations as we're building too this year, and I think this one could well be worth it... not sure how far ahead you are with your build, but if the builder hasn't already ordered the paint then you should be able to change the colour as there is no cost differential in the product itself (same prime cost item), there may be a small admin fee which should be minimal given that they are already raising a variation for the floors

I'd go the bleached white , if the colours don't have enough contrast you can always paint later . I'd look to get your contrasts with the things you can choose like lighting and soft furnishings , enjoy it ! My hubby and I are also in the midst of building and choosing colours tiles bricks ect . Look for things you like when out and about and take loads of pictures :) here's one of our lights

I'm not sure why the skirting is showing a green undertone. Here it looks like a dark beige. Thanks pazz. Poor builders we've had so many variations already although they did make a side comment and say that they thought it was gonna look great. ha! I dare say the bleached floors would be the daring choice and the Havanah is the safe choice. Either way I think it will look good.

Go with your gut feeling, and be bold ;) good luck!

P.S. I'd go with the bleached teak floors and smooth pebble walls, but would still consider having the skirtings and doors white, which will tie in nicely with your alabaster kitchen cabinets and ivory splashback as you've got to look at the space as a whole and your other colour choices... walls are easy to repaint down the track, but skirtings and doors not so much...
