There were tiles on the wall, but the pipe was on the outside of the tiles; someone's quick fix when there was a leak in the original pipes concealed in the wall.

So if I suggested the following could you tell me if this is going to look right. Floor tiles = keep Wall tiles = paint or replace to white? Cedar walls = keep , sand and re oil Cedar beams above shower and bath = ? Vanity = replace to a white unit with a stone/ granite top in a light colour ? Splash back behind vanity = glass white or blue tiles? Mirror = replace with a much larger one , possibly even one stretching the whole width of the wall Shower curtains = not sure ? Would it be better to have frameless glass with translucent glass between shower and bathtub? Bathtub and shower tub = paint white ? Lighting= lots of LED spots Towel rails etc = new Chrome/SS Thank you for any suggestions

do either of these floorplans appeal to you? these rough plans are based on estimated sizes and have the extras you asked for but rearranging plumbing and losing bedrooms is not cheap but we need more information including correct measurements to make more detailed suggestions ...what would your ideal ideal house include, how many bedrooms do you need, are there good and bad views, what do you love and hate about the house, where is north. is the verandah roof part of the main roof or separate and please correct my estimated measurements

You’re right in that it’s quite skinny now. The floor plan I uploaded is actually the original, since then whoever renovated removed the return on the bench and added an island instead. I’ve uploaded a photo of that below (don’t mind the mess :)). We’re struggling to envision how we can modernise the space without shoe horning something in that isn’t quite right, i.e. I’d really love a big island beach but can’t see how we can achieve that without moving the structural wall. As with most families, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen - it’s the busiest part of the house so we’d like it to be modern but also functional with plenty of space for the kids. We see the lounge room as more of a serene, quiet space for us to relax at the end of the day when the kids are in bed. I’ve included more photos of how we currently have the place set up. We’re also going to replace all flooring with vinyl planks (kids and inside dogs don’t mix well with real timber floors).
