Depends on height of the ceiling,and size of your room. ceilings up to 2700 tile to ceiling ( replace ceiling, it is not a good look new bathroom with old ceiling, unless featured ceiling, you need to remove cornice, Tile all walls to ceiling, add new cornice for professional look ) Have you thought of feature wall behind basins, same as floor tiles ?

wow i wonder how samantha's bathroom ended up. I'm readying through today as having picked black taps/ accessories and being recommended by builder to get matt black hinges on shower instead of chrome... now i'm asked about the floor wastes in bathroom floor. am using grey tiles on floor which have a bit of a white fleck through them. debating reverting to chrome hinge on shower and chrome floor wastes but not sure. builder says i can get matt black floor wastes. i guess my concern is in the future... if i wanted to change tapware back to chrome..... a floor waste... not so easy to change... nor a hinge on shower door... but then concerned might look silly and also concerned that the matt black floor waste might age/ scratch etc.... what do you think

given you're already playing with changing window size I'd go much narrower. we've added 1m wide window which is opaque for privacy and full height - its actually comprised of 2 awning windows stacked over a fixed pane window. Mind you we were replacing a sliding door. Remember it's easier to go smaller and add wall rather than bigger and remove wall. The other option is to have a higher window and put toilet underneath.

Hi jay and Melinda. R u still working on layout? Have you thought about having an internal separation in the space. Try this, sorry I dont seem to have success adding images. Off bedroom hall put an opening, could be sliding door, roughly 1200 from your main entry hall, centre of opening at 1600 offset. As you enter this doorway, on left is sliding door to toilet and on right a vanity. The toilet is rotated 90degrees from where you have it. Vanity say 1600 long and toilet room same. Toilet internal width 800. The vanity is set in from the eastern wall 500 to allow a narrow but 1600 long linen cupboard on entry hall outside bathroom. Hope you are following me. Back in the bathroom area beyond the toilet and vanity is a wall with sliding door to washroom. In there I think you would fit a bath on west wall, shower 900w x 1200d on east wall in south corner and another smaller vanity around 900 on east wall. This is creates a powder room on outside and bathroom beyond. Sinks in both areas for flexibility. The 1600 vanity, do one sink and put a makeup area with stool under bench on far end. Hope this gives you food for thought. All the best
