Excuse me dear creative geniuses.....I have a lounge room question.
Comments (23)Good Morning! Just thought i'd weigh in with my thoughts for you... I think that for the size of the room, you currently have too much furniture in it - in terms of seating. And the pictures don't quite show - but what is the relationship between the seating and the TV? Personally, I like a sofa and the arm chairs and would possibly consider losing one of the sofas. Pazz's suggestions are great and relevant. I would upsize the rug and purchase it in shades of blue/grey and bring out those colours in artwork and other soft furnishings such as cushions and lamp shades. Also change the orientation of the rug and coffee table to work with the room rather than fighting against it. I'm not a huge fan of wooden furniture pieces except if they are a highlight - If it was my room, i would paint the coffee table and the TV unit - there are plenty of paints on the market that don't require a massive amount of prep work - such as chalk paints. That would also soften the look. Overall - consider how you use the space currently and how that room interacts with the rest of your home as a whole. Good luck! Comments (8)I would suggest hanging a large moroccan woven fabric or mat, just use a length of dowel along the top edge, and hang it up. It would add great texture and also a casual feel to the room. Dress up the couch with a bunch of patterned cushions and a bolster moroccan style. A silky fabric sun filter curtain would finish off the look. https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/299911656409300053/ https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/405675878916401870/ https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/431219733049382426/...See MoreLounge room help
Comments (17)Have you tried Tv on The light coloured wall, and change sofas around a bit , the reason behind it is that sofa blades in the light coloured wall and tv as well if you swap them around there will be more definition. Then you can pick a nice sunburst mirror and you are almost done. If you want to use a rug it must be decent size not just tiny piece. Rug needs to go under the sofas a bit otherwise don't bother. You can find advice on the right size on line but judging by the photo you need 2 x3m rug....See MoreFilling an awkward space in front lounge room - HELP!
Comments (16)if the alcove doesn't suit your style it should be relatively easy (subject to load bearing) to remove the nib walls and create more flexibility for furniture arrangement...a carpenter, handyman and/or plasterer should be able to give you a quote...See Morebeannie80
