POLL: Where do you keep your shoes?
Comments (26)I found that a few basic towel rails mounted on the back of my wardrobe door works for me :D heels can hang on the rails, or i slot the toe of the shoes in behind the rail. If you've got a spare wall, mounting them on a wall would be even better.... and ballet flats in labelled boxes: 'Dark Coloured Flats' (navy, black) and 'Coloured Flats' (all the other colours ;) ) .....if you need inspo, just search 'shoe storage' on Pinterest. See you in a few hours. LOL...See MoreUnder Stairs dead space

If it is for yourself, I'd store the shoes nearby (i.e. in the laundry if that's near the front door) as that entry is stunning and I think any furniture would take away from its beautiful simplicity. If it's for guests, then I'd consider getting a small stool and basket / box for when guests come over. Something really simple, but convenient for them to remove their shoes and pop them in the basket / box until they leave....See MoreHelp with shoe storage for new home!
Comments (7)first thought is to widen the step at the front door, add a wall attached to the extended roof and create a more sheltered porch entrance with a bench seat and place for shoes under the bench and/or in a wall hung cabinet, the first pictures shows what i think is already there this one shows my suggestion a good carpenter should be able to build something out of timber to match the existing in a few days, not especially cheap, but well worth making something to match your gorgeous new home...a quicker, cheaper option would be to have a decorative shoe cabinet on the floor on the right hand side of the front door looking out...the cabinet would be visible from outside through the window next to the front door...See MoreUser
