Need Advice URGENT
Comments (1)I'm sorry, you live and learn! I feel your pain but the new plan using steel beams (can be rendered, won't look ugly) would probably cost the builder more than making the garage in the original plan size. The new plan will need to be engineered, I assume will cost more in labour and materials. Add 500mm to a single garage would be so cheap! You would only probably get the cost of the bricks and 2hours of labour if you work out a ratio. If the builder has already ordered the bricks for the original garage size, there will be an excess of bricks that you could utilise later. I know it sounds more like you would have preferred the storage space rather than the money side of it but when you think about it you are not losing much at all - 50cm isn't much. Have you seen the suspended garage storage? The cabinets are up high on the wall and the car bonnet actually goes under the cabinets, it's made as a space saving concept. I'd move on and not be too upset : )...See MoreInternal Door Hanging, Urgent Advice by anyone, Please
Comments (12)chookchook2, thank you, I was having an anxiety attack thinking I was about to make a horrible mistake both visually and financially, my builders who were hanging the doors said they were going against everything by hanging them with the shorter panels at the top, (upside down) M.M didn't want to get involved and frankly couldn't see a difference? neither could my daughter? I have an older Queenslander home and the doors were already being cut down to a non standard size, I thought this made them more obvious, like hobbits were living here? I had to post on FB to get another opinion as well because he was going to charge me by the hour and the cost of 3 new doors, but he managed to flip them over and trim them again to fit. I am so glad I stayed to keep an eye on things, otherwise right now I would be terribly disappointed. I still can't upload the finished pics?...See MoreUrgent bathroom advice needed, is this vanity too long?
Comments (18)And it's done! I did not run to ikea to get a shorter vanity, I used what I had and here's the result, ta daaa! It still need some tweaks (tiles, pull too low, push back washing machine etc) and lots of cleaning (are bathroom renovation messy or what) but I'm content with it, it's an 100% improvement! And the plumber didn't think it was too long, nor too high.. Now onto some decoration, I do fancy some pops of coral in there, what do you think? Oh , and should I have a kick-board to hide the feet? Ps: Sorry about the bad photos, my phone doesn't want to focus anymore....See MoreUrgent interior design advice needed
Comments (17)Hi there, Without seeing the entire layout, it is hard to recommend what to do. Here are some ideas which could help! - wall mount tv with swivel arm and tilt to allow a better angle with out ruining the symmetry it creates above the fireplace. -cables can be cover with conduit -curtains can stay but extended to reach the fire place to create the illusion of a larger space. -foxtel (or dvd unit etc) can then be tucked behind curtains where extended curtain is vertically the save space and remove clutter i just finished a project where i did something similar. i will try and take a photo as an example. lavada...See MorePJ Furniture
