Need help recovering 70s chairs with great bones, Eames lounge style
Comments (25)Thanks for all your comments. We've decided to go with a soft tan leather and will probably cover just one of the chairs initially (we have two of them). I'll post a photo when it's reupholstered, which will be a few weeks away yet. Looking forward to breathing new life into the chair. It's so comfortable and we love that it's locally made. Thanks Macu Design for the fabric link - some really beautiful and unusual designs, love the Australian inspired patterns and will keep them in mind for cushions and maybe wallpaper. Meilin42, I agree. The lines of the chair are beautiful and would be overwhelmed with patterned fabric. We looked at the Kvadrat/Maharam fabrics, great options, but couldn't decide on a colour! Very tempted by the citrus, deep purples and teal, but as upholstering is so expensive, we've opted for a classic leather look....See MoreNeed help with lounge layout
Comments (1)Sorry for the seemingly vague question, we're moving soon and have a blank slate to start from. The carpet will go and most likely be replaced with floorboards, coffee or lighter bamboo floorboards. The first pic if as you enter, and the 2nd is the rest of the living or what will be the formal lounge. I'd like to keep a neutral palette and then accessorize in colors. I can't say I love the staircase much, almost feel like painting the wood..but what I'm looking for I suppose is where /what kind of lounge styles would suit this space. I'll post some additional photos of styles I like. Any help or ideas will be much appreciated:)...See MoreNeed help for my lounge room
Comments (12)It's easier to comment on suitable chair fabric after seeing the exact style of the other furniture items you decide to buy Ange, as there are so many styles of 'industrial' to choose from. If you like the fabric on your sofa cushions, you could always try to find some old chair/s at auction or Op-shop and have them re-covered in a similar material. That may be relatively cheaper than buying new. You may find your Kilim rugs at an auction too....See MoreNeed help for my lounge / living room
Comments (12)Hi Donny. You have made a good start with your lookbook. Love the mix you have put together. The artwork you have chosen is the key. It has blues which contrast nicely with the orange tones in the floor and the grey which ties in the couches. I'd look to add more of the neutral colours in the rug like the grey and add some subtle blues in the cushions as well. The rug could be textural rather than too heavily patterned. Love the accessories and tables you have chosen. A great light fitting as has been suggested will really lift the room instead of the oyster fitting. Best wishes.
