House facade colour?

I have chosen jasper colourbond for roof and shed colour on 23 acres new build. i would appreciate facade colour suggestions as I'm unsure.

We chose Jasper for our roof to go with bricks from Boral called Elan Mesa (see picture). It is all very neutral, and so opposite to what appears to be the 'norm' where we live (dark red/brown bricks with black roof).

Looking at your photo it would appear that the soil colours would be similar to our bricks. So unless you want to disappear into the scenery, I wouldn't suggest you follow our choices.

The other photo shows a similar colour to Jasper and a combination of colours that go with it.

Ok, here is the link for Jasper, click on it and you will get some recommended Haymes colours. It would not let me click on paint, just other images

This Wattyl site would not let me save pics, but has 2full schemes one called Morpheus, and one called Jasper. Just go down the list

Hi Rob , You are entering an exciting time with a new home, good luck with it all . Just a couple of suggestions : (1) Any reason you are note considering an architect to be involved ? When chosen carefully they can be very cost effective , plus they will create the unique custom one off that you are after. Their design concepts will go far beyond just what the exterior looks like Rob, they will also consider ( for example) how a skillion roofline has other functional benefits like incorporating high line ( clerestory) windows that will bring fabulous light into the centre of your new home etc. They will also advise on orientation and wind etc etc and lots more . (2) Regardless of whether an architect is involved, I would suggest that you seriously consider getting someone to create a 3D walkthrough of your new home so that you can walk through and around it before you spend your money on construction. It really does let you see the visual effects, plus because the 3D is to scale , it will help you sort out any potential issues with design and /or construction in advance( i.e. saves you time and money during construction ) . The 3D's can be created once you have your plans and elevations completed. You can get the 3D's created fairly cheaply ( a few hundred $'s ) on www.freelancer.com where professionals from around the globe compete for your project . It is money well spent , and you can see the colours and textures in lifelike scenarios , so it takes away the mystery and what if's . Love the 80' house, because you have a lot of sun to deal with a pergola from just above the front door running along the garage wall (minus the furniture) you could set a clear roof on top of the slats for shelter from rain. could even consider a similar pergola at a lower level running across from the front entrance and above the two front windows, these can be built to help block summer sun. Maybe render the garage wall to break up the brick and paint same as the garage door and timber above, this looks pale beige /grey, then this colour above windows remembering that window and door frames are cream, they can be painted. please keep the 80's door celebrate it.

They both have their place, but contrast makes them more interesting. All black needs life added with accent colours or textures like white, timber, warm stone or copper accents. All white needs accents of timber, stone, render contrast with weatherboard or deeper neutrals to show it off

Good colour choice but may get hot without insulation under it. The ceiling in my Meals/Family Room area is Jasper and it works well with the the Dulux Hog Bristle - Self-Destruct range of colours. These names were from a few years ago so they may not be current (or sultana).

Our roof is Jasper and our facade is Hog Bristle triple strength (previous owner's choice). In the shade the combination looks good but in the sun I think the walls look too yellow. We recently painted our front rendered fence in Hog Bristle (single strength) and we like it much better than the triple. In the sun it looks a lot like Surfmist but with slightly more warmth (I had a couple of passerbys asking if it was Surfmist). I also think Dune looks great with Jasper. We live in SE Qld and do not find the dark-coloured Jasper roof heats up the house at all (we have roof tiles, not colorbond, and we have roofing insulation). I tried to take some photos to upload but as its a drizzly day, the colours are looking all wrong.

Yes! Kerrie Chapman is right about the Hog Bristle looking a bit yellow/light. We have used the Self-Destruct as our external wall colour as well as internally and it has a bit more red in it to tie in with the Jasper. If and/or when we re-do our roof we will use Jasper.

My husband and I built a home on 25 acres, 2 years ago. We chose Colorbond cladding and the colours we chose we matched on the property, so the house blends into the landscape. I personally think that rural properties should fit into the landscape not on them. Which is a bit different from street scape, but this is entirely personal. Sorry but I dont have a photo to share, i wish you good luck

choose colours from the landscape and you cant go wrong, also less is more when you want simplicity or simple beauty

Wow what a beautiful spot you have there. COLORBOND® Jasper was the perfect choice to blend the shed into the surrounding natural setting. You could either stick with the COLORBOND® Jasper for the walls of the shed or contrast it with something like COLORBOND® Woodland Grey. This colour was inspired by the Aussie bush land and will also help the shed to blend into the surrounds.
