We have carpet in our 4 bedrooms and study, front lounge and the entertainment area. The rest of the house front entrance hall, hallway large family room, meals area and kitchen are tiled.
The problem 8 have is that all the carpets are well passed the use by date and I will be replacing but I was wondering if it would look odd to replace the carpet in the study, entertainment area and front lounge with wood flooring or good quality vinyl planks. The reason being I can no longer match the floor tiles but these areas are well used and the carpet get so worn and looks so bad.
Can you mix flooring types successfully without it looking like a patch work or would I be better to just re carpet all the areas as they are now?
