You can use the glass spashback as a vanity top. One of my joeys used it and it looks great. She had marble tiles and matched the paint to one of the lighter colours in the marble, but in your case you could use any colour you liked. Laminex also do a Diamond Gloss finish laminate that is more scratch resistant and is super shiny. I used it for my kitchen benchtop and it really shines.

i think a stone bench top and perhaps a round counter top basin as the square basin looks too big for vanity. you can get a slight marble look in stone. timber would look great too but also with a round basin

In our new home we have similar tiles and have a white vanity with white caesarstone top. We were unaware that when you ask for 40mm thickness that the sides are 40mm but the top is 20mm. What is done is a piece of 20mm high density chipboard is placed on first.

There is a more expensive white but we settled for the less costly as we have it in the kitchen, bathroom and en suite and it was going to cost us at least $2,000 extra.

Bench tops were put in place this week and I love it. When you look closely there is a clear fleck in it that reflects the light.

I'm sorry to put a damper on some of the suggestions re the timber I agree it does looks lovely but I'm about to replace my solid timber vanity top. I've found that despite regular sanding, re coating and no matter how well you seal it, timber & water don't mix. Also if you have children, timber hates toothpaste.

Adult males don't do too good with toothpaste either.

If you want the wall and floor tiles to be the hero in your bathroom I recommend you keep the vanity very simple. The white cabinet you have will be least obtrusive with a 'white' top. I love the elegance of stone and man-made stone is generally more durable. Check out Caesarstone Organic White or Frosty Carina. Although Frosty Carina has more pattern than Organic White, it's quite discrete so shouldn't compete with pattern on the tiles. If the tiles are charcoal or a dark brown/grey then either should work. Love to see a photograph when it's finished, whatever you decide.
