What are your thoughts on the cushion placement and colours on this be
Comments (9)I think Simone is a beige kind of girl like me, so I can relate to that very well, sometimes beige people don't like a spree of colour but I think as I said in my earlier post, that some colour elegance like the photo's Olldroo provided is what is easy and quite inexpensive and still not too over the top for again, a beige girl. Also Simone, it's the bedspread that detracts a little from elegance, as it looks like a raw cotton type of cover and lacks that perfect elegance, if that's what you would like. You need something that's smooth as silk, shiny, to lift the colour in the room. I can see your curtains are drawn, so I'm sure this bedroom would look very different in the light of day. As for the suggestion of changing your bed, last resort suggestion however, if it's your favourite bed then you must work around it. To me Simone, your bedroom looks "rendevous inviting" due to your colour choice and as I mentioned earlier, you need a lovely photo on the bedhead wall to complete that mood, perhaps a beautiful wedding photo of you and your partner???..... but remember, it must be landscape not portrait so that it enhances the size of the bed in the room. You could also take Maesap22's suggestion of lightening up the room if you like that idea but that would mean painting the bedhead as well as the draws and a lighter wall colour but then you have the problem of the dark curtains, although not super expensive to upgrade. I can't quite see but it looks like you may have a timber roof, I would definitely change that if it were my room. You have to decide do you want "dark and sassy" or "light and bright", hope all our suggestions answers that question for you!!! A master bedroom is not a room for visitors, it's a private room so it must create the right mood for you and not others!!!...See MoreKitchen counter / island bench layout - your thoughts please
Comments (15)Hi Lil, I believe your original plan works much better than the revised version. While the notion of ideal working widths is great, the larger problem here is the post. I worked on a project very similar to this last year where a post could either be connect to, or separate from the island. What we found was that by separating the island the space between island and post became very awkward. It's not enough of a space to comfortably walk through or be seated at the island in front of. Instead of your room feeling open and generous in proportion, it is going to start to feel cramped and awkward. We have a kitchen in our showroom (Kitchen Studio Tauranga NZ) with a 6ft gap between bench and back wall and it works wonderfully. It allows someone to work at the sink and a second at the island with ease. Stick with the original plan. It will feel a lot more spacious, without compromising work flows....See MoreGlass splash back or tiles what are your thoughts
Comments (28)Hi Hu, I love the window in your kitchen, if you go white subway tiles a stack pattern would add a contemporary look and white grout would give a clean and stylish look and blend beautifully with any decor items you add....See Moretimber clash - your thoughts?
