Black window frames and blind ideas
Comments (14)Thank you Houzz friends! Your photos look lovely. Here's my dilemma. This will give you an idea. E.G Bedroom (Pictured) We will need both 'white/neutral block outs' and screen blinds in this bedroom and, just screens in kitchen (kitchen not ready yet so photos to come at later date). Reveals of most windows and opening doors will not allow for mounting on black metal and if blinds are fixed there, we will lose a good part of top section of windows. So for us ... the only place to fix 'black' screen blinds would be on the Antique white USA window frame/surrounds. Considerations: 1/ Black Screens - if we go this way, are they going to look odd/heavy (like eyebrows) mounted on white frame? 2/ White Screens - these are an option but I don't think they are our preference. 3/ Taupe Screens (almost wall colour match) - we have been advised to mount these on white surrounds but i think it might look 'bitsy' - especially in this bedroom when we need double blinds e.g block outs as well. Hope this all makes sense?!!...See MoreNeed help with roller blinds in awning windows
Comments (2)Thank you My Beautiful Abode for your comment. The blind installer informed us that the blinds can't be released from their brackets and that once installed, a blind and it's bracket has to be removed as a unit. However, the window manufacturer demonstrated to us how the screens can be manipulated in sideways and then forced into position. Each time this procedure is carried out the window frames and fly screen frames are prone to damage. We don't believe that the present bracket design "is fit for purpose" and would not have purchased from this manufacturer of blinds had we been aware, or advised, that the blinds could not be released from the brackets....See MoreWhat window frame colour should I pick?
Comments (64)We have had the same dilemma with lighter multi colour bricks. We used an interior designer to help.... We painted large sheets of cardboard with colour and put them against the brick... Bought sample pots of colours as cheaper than making big mistake... Monument was recommended against our Sandstone & red/brown fleck bricks... No blue in sight. Other idea is to match a colour in your brick to draw out that colour as per the neighbourhood photo - take a brick to paint store to match. We will use red in brick as feature colour on garden walls....See MoreLight or Dark window frame dilemma! Help please
Comments (3)I don't think it overly matters , but personally I like the darker frames for the contrast -- lighter frames are a bit whimpy ....See Moredesignideas4me
