Can you be more specific? Is that the WIR between BR1 and 2, cos can't see another..
The plan has the BR behind alfresco and other layout outlined in black so appears to be what you are referring to.. Feature window is above bath?? If so, do you really want to go from one to other along the corridor?

Hi there, we are renovating the existing bathroom next to Bed 1 and turning it into our ensuite

If you don't want to enter off bedroom, You could try to move the door from the WIR to where the shower is. Push the shower and toilet to opposite end.

Bit tricky with bathroom, slr027 suggestion is probably the best.

I did notice that you could add more storage if the wir shelves were an L shape. Also rework your new bathroom by centring the door. Shr to where door is now, wider double sink vanity and push bath up so you could have more standing room to your bigger vanity......

There may be more possibilities but need some measurements to confirm sizes as we are only guessing at the moment. Nevertheless go back to the designer and have them reshuffle the design a touch more. It's quite good but a minor door amendment will make it even feel bigger without doing anything else.

Suggest:

1) Square off BR2 (i.e shorten WIR, close off door to bathroom). You could of course go other way if the Bathroom is enlarged instead. As far as I can estimate, you could have a room that is either 2.65 or 3 m wide, depending how you went. Quite adequate either way for small BR or office..

Shelves in (narrow) WIR are quite deep (from scale) and could be narrower and now longer.. The alcove with the shelves(?), the foot of L, could have built in cupboard.

2) Move toilet to where door to WIR is now closed off.

3) Enter Bathroom (not WIR as I wrote first time..) from BR1 and BR2 (if desired) via sliding doors. These are lockable and if BR2 is ever used as a nursery room, very useful.. .

4) Nice long vanity under window with lots of room for basin(s) and perhaps floor to ceiling storage to side.

OK .. this requires 2 doors from your BR, or perhaps a door and a bead curtain (as in my BR..), but so what... You have more room to play with.

5) When you say 'feature window' you mean you are going to knock those two into one? What is that door we can see part of? The shower?

6)The other bedroom/stuff needs a rethink too. lots of wasted space there.

Not sure about dimensions but for my first take is as follows.

Move bedroom door to left further into entry and where WIR shelf is now.

Build a wall of cupboards along bedroom wall if there is room (WIR is great if you have room but I think you are narrowing two other rooms in the process)

Lengthen the ensuite in to this space & have a larg shower and a large vanity or separate the WC

Give bedroom 2 back the straight wall behind this WIR/ensuite space as the room is very small

Investigate the flow from entry through kitchen and/or redirected though two rooms is not ideal at all!

Thanks all for your helpful comments. We are going to move toilet to where existing ensuite door is shown and have sliding door into our room - will make such a difference. This plan is our second one (scaled down due to costs). Our original plan moved the kitchen to a new place to the west and continued entry hall through existing kitchen (extending Bed 2 out and shelves with sliding doors down the other side of hall). We are minimising existing wall changes now to keep costs down (and to also maintain both bedrooms beautiful decorative ceilings). We haven't even thought properly yet about the WIR storage design, those shelves were drawn in but we will definitely use the space better to maximise storage.

therzal - would be interested in hearing your suggestions for your Point 5.

Have you checked with your plumber that the toilet can be moved?

If you do decide to put the toilet where the door is shown, and have a sliding door in the centre of the wall from the bedroom ensure that the door slides to the right when entering from the bedroom. This will give the person using the toilet a bit more privacy if someone else opens the sliding door unexpectedly.

Also, while you are thinking about bathrooms, the main bathroom could do with a rethink. A bath under the window, unless looking onto some spectacular view, is impractical as you have to stand in the bath to clean the window - I would put the bath along the end wall, with drainage at the window end, and put vanity across the window, where light will be better when using the basin.
