I'd go with his choice, because even if it wasn't 'my' style, I'd rather feel like he's taking an interest and equally invested in our home together. Plus, if I'm being completely honest, I think his taste is probably better than mine. ;) He rarely has an opinion on anything house-related, so when he puts his foot down, I go along with it: and on each occasion, it's been exactly the right decision. Example: I wanted the whole house painted out in ecru and antique white because it looks awesome with oak floors and I'm kind of a minimalist. Hubby insisted on painting the lounge room in yellow. YELLOW. I thought he'd lost his mind... but I went with it, because I get my way 99.9% of the time, so why quibble about the 0.1%? He insisted that 'in Winter, you'll be glad we have this warm, cozy colour'. And you know what? Every Winter, I love that room. It's an odd duck compared to the rest of the house, but damned if it doesn't actually work surprisingly well. It'd definitely be too much to take as a house-wide theme - but contained as it is, it's pretty great.

Hi, Love the artwork. Because they're so small, how about putting them vertically, side by side on the wall where the bookcase is. I'd either take out the bookcase, or paint it white. If space is an issue in the room, you could maybe replace the bookcase with a small ottoman/ pouf in a textured plain fabric. This gives guests a place to lay their clothes at night or to set an overnight bag. You could consider a LARGE, maybe hectagonal grey framed mirror over the bed to echo the lines in the bedding. The bedding has a lot of pattern and a mirror may be all you need. Most of all, don't rush. Take your time and enjoy the process.

@oskuee - Wow - that's a bit hostile! Why are you so upset? Other professionals constantly add their comments and suggestions to Design Dilemmas, so why can't I? There are MANY names which appear constantly in nearly every Design Dilemma. I see you have made 1150 comments yourself! This Houzzer has asked for artwork ideas and that is precisely what I am providing. I am giving them advice as to what may/may not work in their space. I'm a hard working Australian Artist trying to make a living, like everybody else and I'm a little frustrated with people sending others to places selling mass produced art, when Australia is rich with creative talent. Shouldn't we be supporting the work of Australian Artists? Original artworks need not be expensive and I don't believe everybody needs to go to the majors for a cheap artwork. Start by visiting some of the public art galleries and maybe taking a tour with a guide who can explain some of the key elements of the pieces on display (we had a marvellous guided tour of the NSW Art Gallery).. Wander through every commercial gallery and art exhibit you can. Maybe even take a course in art appreciation. Art as an investment is for those with a very good understanding of art. Myself, I prefer to simply buy pieces I like - I doubt any of them will be investment pieces ever, but they didn't cost a fortune and they give me pleasure. I've picked up pieces in galleries, street markets, art shows, etc etc. There's lots of interesting original work out there. Take your time, and think of it as art, not as decor to match the sofa.
